Our Worshipful Master and all of the members welcome you to Roger de Somery Lodge’s website which will provide you with information about Roger de Somery Lodge which is a Freemasons Lodge within the Province of Bedfordshire. The Lodge was formed just after the War and was very successful for a great number of years with a thriving membership and busy meetings. In 2019 after a decline in membership there was an influx of members from other Lodges in Bedfordshire and beyond who were desirous of forming a new Rugby Themed Lodge. The Provincial Grand Master had already given his permission to form a brand new Rugby themed Lodge but then suggested that the members may be better to help a Lodge that was struggling for membership by joining together with them, thus maintaining the history of the existing Lodge and helping it to redevelop. To this end the interested members joined Roger de Somery Lodge and have embarked on the journey of developing the Lodge into what is Bedfordshire’s only Rugby Themed Lodge.
Meeting on a Saturday we are looking at ways that we can interact with local Rugby Clubs in Bedfordshire to strengthen our membership with likeminded Masons. We have been meeting at around lunchtime, enjoying a meal afterwards and then retiring to the bar to watch an International or Premiership Game depending on the time of year and the fixture list. We have become part of the Association of Rugby Lodges in the UK and Invite people from other Rugby Themed Lodges to attend our meetings.
We are based in Luton where we meet at the Luton Masonic Centre, Bowling Green Lane, Luton, on the 1st Saturday of October, November, January, February & March and the last Saturday of April. Our meetings normally start around 12.00 pm.
The website will help you to understand what we do, highlight upcoming events and showcase other items of interest.
